Of course it is better to first join a club where you can acquire more information, because we are dealing with
living creatures that deserve respect and every opportunity to lead a happy life. Please always remember that
you are taking them in for several years, we are not talking about a disposable object.
Some spiders can live to be about 30 years old.
Things you should note when you are acquiring a spider or spiders :
The animal should be intact; ensure it does not have any legs missing.
The abdomen should not be collapsed.
The spider should not show any signs of dehydration. The legs have to be nicely rounded and mobile.
A spider lying on his stomach and having the tendency to draw up his legs underneath himself is as good as dead.
